Explore Chennai. Santhome Cathedral, Fort St. Goerge, kapaleeswarar temple, Marina Beach, Kalakshertra.

Tanjore - Trichy

Trichy is on the banks of river Kaveri. Held and ruled by different dynasties. Several temples, historic Rock Fort. Srirangam: Ancient Island temple - town enclosed within the seven walls of the gigantic Sri Ranganathaswami Temple. Rock Fort temple : Atop a 83m high outcrop, after a stiff 437 - step climb, the stone temple affords a magnificent view.
Ranganathar :Probably the largest temple in India, dating from the 14th to 17th centuries. Overnight at Hotel.

Drive to Madurai after breakfast. Over Night at Hotel.

leave for Periyar. Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary.

Kochi - Ooty

Drive to Ooty after breakfast. Ooty located on Western Ghat mountains is the most popular hill station in south India, founded by John Sullivan. Altitute 2240 meters. Famous for tea plantations, originally established by the British. The Government Botanical Garden houses wide variety of exotic and ornamental plants. The Flower Show is the pride of the famous summer festival. Boating in Ooty lake. St.Stephen's Church built in 1829 is the oldest church in the Nilgiris. Overnight stay.

Ooty - Mysore

Drive to Mysore after breakfast. Mysore is the old capital of the erstwhile Mysore state. Seat of Wodayar kings. Taken over by Hyderali in the 17th century and later ruled by the legendary Tippu Sultan. Held by British after defeat of Tippu in 1799. Maharaja Palace : Maginificent structure by Wodayar kings in 1911. Houses a gold throne weighing 200 kg. Chamund Hills : Grand temple atop a thousand steps. Chamarajendra Art Gallery : Exhibits traditional Gold Leaf paintings and other works of oil by great masters including Raja Ravi Varma. Overnight stay.

Mysore

Visit Srirangapatanam and Somnathpur. Srirangapatanam : An Island town, capital of Hyder Ali and Tippu Sultan. Visit Tippu's palace and final resting place. Somnathpur : Visit famous Hoysala temples built in 1268 AD. Renowned for art on temple walls. Overnight stay.

Mysore - Bangalore

Proceed to Bangalore after breakfast. Bangalore - Known as Garden City of India. Haven of Software companies. Early military base of the British in India. Capital of Karnataka. Architecture - Bangalore is home to some of the most striking structures in the country - Vidhansoudha, the High court and several old colonial buildings. The 350-acre Cubbon Park has many rare plants and trees. Bangalore is also a well-known shopper's stop. Evening free for shopping/Pub visit. Overnight stay.
